Modern Staffing is recruiting for a qualified Part-Time Shipping Coordinator for a manufacturing company located in Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing freight costs for outbound shipments. This role works closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and internal teams to ensure loads are shipped on time, at the most cost-effective rates, and in compliance with company and customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule outbound freight loads with approved carriers.
  • Rate shop and negotiate freight costs to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Select appropriate transportation modes (LTL, FTL, parcel, etc.) based on cost and service needs.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents, including BOLs and freight invoices.
  • Track outbound shipments and resolve delivery or carrier issues.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to align shipping schedules with order readiness.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and freight cost records in the TMS/ERP system.
  • Communicate shipment status and delays to internal management.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; logistics or supply chain coursework a plus.
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight coordination preferred.
  • Working knowledge of freight pricing, carriers, and transportation modes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and shipping/logistics software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
