Assembly

Assembler Newell/Coleman Company

Assembles parts to form component parts. Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or by following specifications. Assembles primarily one product line component.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. May do minor set ups for jobs by locating parts.
2. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, spaced clips, rivets, cotter pins or
3. other fasteners using hand tools and portable power pneumatic tools (i.e. import
4. wrench).
5. May remove small quantities of metal with hand files and pneumatic tools to
6. produce close fit between parts.
7. May operate drills, riveting machines, or hydraulic crimping machine to assist in assembly operation.
8. May run sound tests to verify correct assembly of equipment.
9. Fills out work orders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. One month to six months of experience in related field preferred.
3. Ability to read blue prints and follow assembly instructions.
4. Ability to lift, push or pull 50-75 pounds alone .
5. Manual dexterity; mechanically inclined and good eye/hand coordination.
6. Ability to read measuring devices.
7. Bend, Kneel, Twist, Stoop
8. Stand in one place for 8 hours
9. Do repetitive work
10. Handle non climate controlled environment
