Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Lab Technician for a manufacturing company located in San Antonio, TX. Please see the job description below to determine if you meet the qualifications:
Responsible for performing laboratory testing of production and prototype samples to evaluate reliability and performance of dispensing controls, systems and products. Gathers and formats data for reports.
Test components and assemblies of beverage dispensing, gas regulators and backroom equipment in various stages.
Performs tests to provide data in the development of new and current products.
Visually inspects dispensing, gas regulators and backroom equipment for variances or unsatisfactory workmanship.
Consults with Engineers/Customers on test techniques and designs.
Uses hand and air tools to assemble and operate various test setups including plumbing, electrical setups and connections.
Evaluates testing process and advices Engineers/Customers of test progress.
Fabricates non-standard test fixtures.
Acquires data to be recorded that may include such information as test setup, test results, digital pictures and validation results.
Maintains and repairs testing equipment and instrumentation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalency required.
Associate degree in electronics or refrigeration technology preferred.
Refrigeration certification (EPA) a plus.
Prior experience in a laboratory/testing or related environment required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, including LEAN manufacturing experience, is a plus.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication (oral, written, follow-through) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively and provide prompt and professional service to customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
Process-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and documentation/procedural skills.
Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel (graphs/charts) and MS Outlook.
Electro-mechanical skills to include experience with hand tools (wrenches, drills, pneumatic, saws, etc.) for building / modifying prototypes, etc.
Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings as well as assembly and test products.
Ability to use precision measuring equipment including, but not limited to flow meters, digital gauges, temperature sensors, etc.;
Must be willing to work overtime as needed to help the department meet demands.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day.
Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm
