Modern Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Emergency Room Front Desk Specialist for an emergency clinic in New Braunfels, TX:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Monitors and participates in patient flow process
  2. Exhibit excellent customer service for internal and external customers in a professional manner
  3. Efficiently check in patients in the Emergency department
  4. Ensure the information you are entering in registration is accurate with biographical and financial information
  5. Exhibits efficient and timely manner, by answering incoming call sand patients in person
  6. Daily reconciliation accurately, collecting payments such as credit cards and checks as well as balancing money
  7. Review and interpret patients account to help them understand liability
  8. Update demographic and insurance information to ensure appropriate and timely filing for patient billing
  9. Oversee lobby area, coordinates patient movement and report any problems or irregularities
  10. Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPPA requirements
  11. Perform front office clerical duties to support the patient check in and check out Including but not limited to greeting patients, handing paperwork, verifying and updating patient insurance information, and collecting payment. As well as File, Scan, Maintain records.
  12. Transmit information or documents to patient using computer, mail, or facsimile Handling cash, check credit cards and correspond with billing as needed.
  13. Perform other duties as needed by supervisor

Secondary responsibilities:

  1. Ensure front office area is maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care
  2. Independently composes correspondence and forms to assist with patient care and data collection
  3. Assists with front desk coverage for others during vacation or illness of other personnel

  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the general public


Requirements and Experience:

  • Front Desk Medial Office/Customer Service 1 year of experience
  • Insurance verification – 1 year of experience
  • 1 year of administrative experience preferably in the medical field
  • Medical insurance knowledge
  • Typing ability of 40 WPM required
  • Word processing and computer experience required
