Modern Staffing is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager for a manufacturing company located in the area:Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP) goods, and finished products. Ensure production lines have necessary materials while maintaining optimal stock levels to reduce carrying costs and avoid production shutdowns. This role combines strategic planning, data analysis, and hands-on supervision of warehouse staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Inventory Control & Accuracy: Organize inventory, manage and enforce materials movement procedures, implement and manage cycle counting programs, perform physical inventory audits, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain high (98-99%+) inventory accuracy.
- Production Support: Collaborate with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure raw materials are available for manufacturing runs and finished goods are properly stored for shipment.
- Stock Optimization: Analyze inventory levels to minimize excess stock (dead stock) and reduce carrying costs, while ensuring adequate supply to avoid stockouts.
- Data Analysis & Forecasting: Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel to forecast demand and track inventory turnover, days-on-hand, and other key metrics.
- Warehouse Supervision: Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including inventory clerks, receiving/shipping coordinators, and material handlers.
- Supplier Relations: Coordinate with procurement to manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and consignment programs.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma) to streamline workflows, such as implementing barcode scanning or optimizing storage layouts.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 10 years minimum of inventory control experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Just-in-Time (JIT) methods.
- Certifications: APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is preferred.

Pay Range$56k annual pay range (depending on experience)
