Combo Welder/Fabricator

Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Combo Welder/Fabricator for a local manufacturing company in Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various duties such as fitting and welding mild steel, stainless, and aluminum parts using a MIG, TIG, Stick and/or Braze process and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Layout work; Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codes
• Work with various devices such as hand tools, power tools and measuring devices
• Use a variety of tools to perform tasks on the shop floor including a plasma torch, Oxygen/Acetylene welding and cutting
• Be safety conscious and use PPE as required
• Knowledgeable about pipe fittings
• Weld various materials such as steel, cast steel, aluminum. Cast aluminum, stainless steel, brass and bronze
• Operate a variety of shop equipment such as a drill press, shop press, mill, iron worker, forklift and vertical and horizontal metal saws safely and efficiently
• Maintain and upkeep a well-organized workspace
• Other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).

• Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, weld symbols, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to identify welding defects.
• Ability to compile and maintain records, logs and organize reports accurately.
• Ability to perform basic reading; Knowledge of mathematical calculations, numbers and dimensions.
• Must have great communication skills and organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to repetitively and/or frequently lift and carry at least 45 pounds and frequently push and/or pull over 75 pounds.
• Work involves frequent periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, pushing/pulling, reaching and bending at the waist.

PAY RATE:

22$ - 24$ / hour
