Modern Staffing is recruiting for a Material Handler with Forklift experience for a fabrication company located in Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY

The Material Handler-Press Brake Support drives a forklift to transport raw, in-process, and finished sheet metal materials throughout the facility. This position is responsible for loading/unloading metal, machinery, staging jobs for press operators, organizing scrap, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role acts as a vital link between inventory and the press brake operators to prevent downtime.

RESPNSIBILITIES

• Material Feeding & Removal: Load raw sheets/blanks into the press brake area and remove finished, bent parts to the next station or staging area.
• Forklift Operation: Safely operate sit-down or stand-up forklifts to move heavy materials (metal sheets, coils, or fabricated assemblies).
• Job Staging & Organization: Organize and stage jobs for the press brake department to ensure continuous, uninterrupted production.
• Tooling Support: Transport heavy dies, punches, and other tooling to and from the press brake machines as requested.
• Scrap Management: Remove scrap metal and manage waste disposal within the department.
• Inventory Control: Update ERP systems (or scan, tag) with inventory movements; verify materials (lot numbers, codes) correspond to production work orders.
• Safety & Maintenance: Perform daily pre-use safety inspections on the forklift, report any malfunctions, and adhere strictly to OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Certification: Valid OSHA-certified forklift license.
• Experience: Proven experience (2+ years) operating a forklift in a heavy manufacturing, machine shop, or metal fabrication environment.
• Physical Strength: Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret production work orders, shipping documents, or tags. Experience with RFID Scanners and/or ERP systems.
• Spatial Awareness: High level of alertness for operating equipment around other personnel and machinery.
