Job Description

Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Senior Staff Accountant for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:


JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various accounting job duties to meet deadlines in a timely manner and other related duties as required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly journal entries.
  • Cash, A/P and A/R sub-ledgers reconciliation.
  • Financial report preparation.
  • Maintain Inventory – Raw materials and WIP.
  • Cycle Count Selection and Adjustments.
  • Manage Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory and E&O inventory utilization.
  • Lead Physical Inventory Coordination and Posting.
  • Review Purchase Price Variance & Inventory revaluation transactions.
  • Review and coordinate internal indirect jobs.
  • Inventory cost roll.
  • Maintain all aspects of Fixed Assets.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets database.
  • Conduct Fixed Asset Inventory Verification.
  • Job Cost Reporting.
  • Participate in other finance and management projects.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2 years' accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 plus years of related accounting experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting is REQUIRED.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Detail oriented with high level of attention to financial accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numerical data.
  • Experienced in Excel spreadsheets and other accounting software. MS Excel technical skills – Pivot tables, VLookup, etc.; Functional Skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment that requires the management of multiple projects at one time.
  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to complete a task or project
  • Ability to meet important deadlines in which may cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
  • Excellent professional demeanor and the ability to collaborate with other departments
  • Ability to work beyond a standard 8-hour day during the financial close and other occasions, when necessary, potentially including weekends and holidays.


WORK SCHEDULE:

8-Hour Shift
Monday - Friday
7:30am - 4:30pm


SALARY RANGE:
$55k - $70k/Annual
