Job Description

Modern Staffing is recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to assist the Quality Control Manager at a manufacturing facility located in Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting the QA Manager with meeting Product Safety and Quality Standards. Job Function will include all aspects of quality control and testing for quality procedures and specifications; maintenance and enforcement of company policies and procedures. Major challenges to this position is consistently auditing and testing products within the customer specification standards and working with production to apply corrective actions in the extrusion and conversion processes, maintaining effective communication between QA and production and working within customer requirements. The effectiveness of this position may be measured by rejections from packaging and customer complaint trends.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and update records of audits performed.
  • Accurately use and operate various test equipment such as digital micrometers, digital force gauges, dart drop, and shadow graphs. Be able to summarize test data and state conclusions to support customer requirements.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently.
  • Possess basic organizational skills and be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to make decisions based on company policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, ISO 9000, Safety, Health and Environmental and GMP processes.
  • Assist in conducting internal quality assurance audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Management.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment or being a member of a quality systems team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality Management Systems- Process, Terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, etc) and computer-based software, and to perform basic data analysis within MS Excel.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate nonstandard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interaction.

Training:
First two weeks M - F 8a-5p

Work rotating shift schedules:
Schedule 1: Week 1: Wed-Sun 8:00am-6:00pm & Week 2: Thur-Sat 8:00am-6:00pm
Schedule 2: Week 1: Wed-Sun 8:00am-6:00pm & Week 2: Wed-Fri 8:00am-6:00pm


PAY RANGE:
$16-$18 (based on experience)
