Modern Staffing is seeking a Skilled Carpentry Handyman for a local contractor in San Marcos, TX:
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to complete woodworking projects, basic plumbing, electrical issues, home repairs, painting interiors/exteriors, and other home remodeling projects. MUST OWN WORK VEHICLE AND TOOLS. Will support the following areas: San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Lockhart, Seguin, and New Braunfels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lighting installation and carpentry (build cabinets, repair walls)
- Perform major maintenance and repairs.
- Perform plumbing and/or electrical duties per customer needs.
- Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks, etc.)
- Build wooden decks and fences.
- General job site cleanup as needed.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have proven experience as a carpenter or skilled handyman.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- Solid work experience with power tools, hand tools and electrical equipment.
- Must have experience completing projects unsupervised and independently.
- Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Must have basic math and measuring skills.
- Must have excellent skills in: communication, organization, and problem-solving.
- Must have a keen attention to detail.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or frequently.
- Work involves frequent periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, and reaching, bending at the waist and infrequently climbing.
- Indoor/outdoor work environment.
SHIFT:
8-Hour Shift
Monday - Friday
8:30am - 4:00pm
(times may vary based on job needs)
PAY RANGE:
$23-$28/HR
