Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Shipping/Receiving Assistant for a manufacturing company located in Seguin, TX:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping/Receiving Assistant will prepare parts for shipment, efficiently, and on time. They also receive parts correctly and distribute to the proper departments. The role requires completion of all internal paperwork for shipping, receiving, and inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Properly package, label, and wrap all products for shipment.
- Pull parts from stock in first-in, first-out method.
- Inspect all received product for visible damage.
- Obtain all receipts for received product and submit to QA & Purchasing for verification.
- Distribute received product to the correct departments.
- Observe safe working practices, rules and regulations; wear all safety equipment as required, corrects and reports hazards immediately, keeps hands out of dies; and actively participates in and supports all company safety, health and environmental programs.
- Completes company required training programs assigned by the VP of Operations and participates in optional training programs provided by the company.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Recommends quality, safety, and productivity improvements to supervisors and plant management.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer one year shipping preparation and receiving experience.
- Prefer high school graduate or GED.
- Must speak and read English.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills.
- Forklift experience and certification required.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and frequently push and pull over 100 pounds.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, handle, finger, feel, use eye-hand coordination, stoop; kneel, crouch, twist upper body and infrequently climb
- Ability to demonstrate near and far acuity and depth perception.
- Ability to use senses of hearing and touch.
- Average ability to think and reason, solve problems, apply speed and accuracy, and solve math problems; low ability to read with speed and accuracy and reason mechanically.
- Above average interpersonal skills; average oral communication and organizational skills, and low written communication skills.
- Ability to read shipping acknowledgements, memos, and follow shipping directions from carriers.
- Ability to write shipping paperwork and logs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work scheduled shifts and overtime as it arises.
- Perform work in manufacturing plant and/or adjoining and related work areas.
- Frequent exposure to extreme heat, extreme noise, mechanical hazards, vibration hazards and moving equipment (i.e. cranes and forklifts) and occasional exposure to outdoor work, electrical hazards and fume/odor hazards.
SHIFT:
8-Hour Shift
7:00am - 3:30pm
Monday - Friday
PAY RATE:
$15/hr
