Modern Staffing is recruiting for an experienced PEM Machine Operator for a custom sheet metal fabrication plant located in Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

Operate a Punch, Emboss, Mechanical Fastening Insertion Machine for a sheet metal fabrication plant to install studs, nuts and standoffs into metal components to fulfill client work orders.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate PEM insertion machines to install self-clinching fasteners, studs, nuts, and standoffs into metal components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to ensure proper fastener placement and product requirements.
  • Inspect parts before, during, and after installation to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates.
  • Load, unload, and position materials safely while maintaining efficient production flow.
  • Make machine adjustments and perform minor troubleshooting to maintain quality and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience operating PEM insertion machines or similar metal fabrication equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to identify various types and sizes of PEM hardware and install them accurately.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

SHIFT:

10-Hour Shift
Monday - Thursday
5:30am - 4:00pm
Eligible for OT Hours on Fridays

PAY RATE:
$18.50/Hr
