Modern Staffing is recruiting for an experienced skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing company in the food industry located in New Braunfels, TX:
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment, machinery and systems to ensure optimal production performance. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems will help minimize production downtime and improve operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, pneumatics, and high-voltage electrical components.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, sensors, valves, switches, and wiring to restore equipment functionality swiftly.
- Operate precision measuring instruments like ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults accurately.
- Maintain facilities including building, grounds, HVAC and more.
- Assist with field service activities including working on scissor lifts or other elevated platforms to access hard-to-reach machinery safely.
- Follow safety protocols related to low voltage and high voltage systems while performing maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings for troubleshooting and repair purposes.
- Support the installation of new equipment or upgrades by collaborating with engineering teams and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service internally by coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime during maintenance activities.
- Maintain a culture of safety and quality including occupational and food related.
- Be able to document all activities performed using a computer.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of industrial electrician practices, including working with low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, welding (including stainless steel welding), and mechanical repairs.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and documentation.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters for diagnostics.
- Knowledge of analysis skills necessary for troubleshooting complex machinery issues efficiently.
- Field service experience preferred, especially involving industrial equipment repairs in diverse settings.
- Food safety and manufacturing background a plus especially with SQF and GFSI auditing schemes
- Electrical experience is a strong plus.
- English required; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to and over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ambient warehouse and climate-controlled production floor. Small maintenance team under the supervision of the operations manager.
- Working daily with Jalapeno and/or Pickle aromas.
SHIFT:
10-Hour ShiftMonday-Thursday(Some Fridays as needed for preventative maintenance, major repairs, etc.)
PAY RANGE:
$18.00-$20.00/HR (Depends On Experience)
