Modern Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Production Equipment Maintenance Technician for a food production company located in New Braunfels, TX:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Industrial Equipment Maintenance, Industrial electronic control systems including PLC controls, Pneumatic systems, Mechanical systems. Basic maintenance safety procedures. Attention to Detail. Knowledge of Food Safety programs such as HACCP, SQF and FSMA is a plus.
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC’s preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to effectively troubleshoot and make necessary repairs on mechanical production equipment.
• Performs diagnostic troubleshooting on electrical, motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC’s, and other mechanical equipment.
• Make necessary repairs on those systems, machine tools, and conveyors.
• Follow blueprints, sketches and schematics for installation of newer and/or rebuilt equipment.
• Tear down and overhaul equipment components such as, but not limited to: pumps, valves, regulators, and motors.
• Maintain building facilities.
• Completes required reports and other documentation on assigned work and/or inspections.
• Must have a strong understanding of mechanical components and how they work in conjunction with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Keeps work station in order.
• Supports team objectives.
• Observes all Safety policies and procedures.
• Must be flexible to work overtime as needed.
• Supports continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ambient warehouse and climate-controlled production floor.
• Small maintenance team under the supervision of the operations manager.

EDUCATION

Trade school maintenance program or two year Associates degree, -OR- five years of industrial maintenance experience and/or training, or some combination of education and experience.

SHIFT

Monday – Friday 6AM-6PM (40+ hours/week)

Certificates

• Valid forklift certification
• Valid driver’s license
