Skilled Carpentry Handyman

Modern Staffing is seeking a Skilled Carpentry Handyman for a local contractor in San Marcos, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to complete woodworking projects, basic plumbing, electrical issues, home repairs, painting interiors/exteriors, and other home remodeling projects. MUST OWN WORK VEHICLE AND TOOLS. Will support the following areas: San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Lockhart, Seguin, and New Braunfels.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Lighting installation and carpentry (build cabinets, repair walls)
• Perform major maintenance and repairs.
• Perform plumbing and/or electrical duties per customer needs.
• Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks, etc.)
• Build wooden decks and fences.
• General job site cleanup as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
Must have prior experience in carpentry, home remodeling and construction.

• Must have proven experience as a carpenter or skilled handyman.
• Solid work experience with power tools, hand tools and electrical equipment.
• Must have experience completing projects unsupervised and independently.
• Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have basic math and measuring skills.
• Must have excellent skills in: communication, organization, and problem-solving.
• Must have a keen attention to detail.

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or frequently.
• Work involves frequent periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, and reaching, bending at the waist and infrequently climbing.
• Indoor/outdoor work environment.

Monday – Friday 8:30AM-4:00PM **Times may vary based on job needs**
