Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified TIG Welder for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various duties such as fitting and welding of steel and stainless-steel parts using a MIG and/or TIG process and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Measure and align workpieces using straight-edges, clamps, and/or calipers.
- Fill ducts with water/air and submerge in water to identify pipe leakage.
- Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations.
- Carry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts.
- Oversee the set-up of TIG welding equipment.
- Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers.
- Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codes.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repair of piping systems and metal structures.
- Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements.
- Perform TIG welding on materials such as fiberglass, iron, plastic, and copper.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be prepared to take on-site welding test.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- 2 years of TIG Welding work experience required.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, weld symbols, drawings and engineering documentation.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Ability to identify welding defects.
- Ability to compile and maintain records, logs and organize reports accurately.
- Effective communication and organizational skills; Ability to read, write and speak proficiently in English.
- Ability to perform basic reading; Knowledge of mathematical calculations, numbers and dimensions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to repetitively and/or frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work involves frequent periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, pushing/pulling, reaching and bending at the waist.
- Must be proficient in using various hand tools and utilize a tape measure in metric and imperial.

PAY RANGE:
$17 - $21/HR (Depends On Experience)
