Job Description

Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified experienced Press Brake Operator for a local sheet metal manufacturing company in Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility is to set-up and operate metal bending machines (Press Brake) in accordance with quality/quantity standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify different types of material – Aluminum, 5000 series Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Paint Grip, Galvanneal, and Galvanized
  • Set up machinery to perform specific jobs
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management
  • Maintain a well-organized work area, keep equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan
  • Maintain documentation of quality results
  • Uphold site efficiency standards
  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for site Safety and Quality standards and procedures
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience operating a sheet metal press brake machine. (Company will train if you have machine operating experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, memos, and simple instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic business mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to understand and work with mechanical systems, machinery, and devices such as hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to use and read a caliper, tape measure, and protractor.
  • Ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or frequently.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle/feel, and talk/hear.
  • Work involves occasional periods of walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting/turning and reaching or bending at the waist.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus..

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

6am-4pm 1st Shift (Monday-Thursday)

4pm-2am 2nd Shift (Monday-Thursday)

6am - 6pm Weekend Shift (Friday-Saturday & Sunday)

PAY RANGE:

$18.50-$22.00/HR (Depends On Experience & Shift)
